Because of this, there may be players who have one or both blinds waived when players are eliminated. Because this happens randomly, no players are favored in the long run and this necessary rule is fair to all players.
If there are two players left at the final table, the button posts the small blind and is also first to act in the opening round.

How to Play Texas Hold’em
If you’d rather learn the rules of Hold’em first, you can read through the following instructions.
The Blinds
In Hold’em, a disc (the ‘button’ or ‘dealer button’) is used to indicate which player must deal. Before play begins, the player immediately to the left of the button posts the ‘small blind’, the first required bet. The next player immediately to the left of the small blind posts the ‘big blind’, which is usually twice the small blind, but the blinds can vary depending on the limit and betting structure.
Depending on the precise structure of the game, each player may also be required to post an ‘ante’ (another type of forced bet, normally smaller than the blinds, which must be posted by all players at the table).
Each player then receives his or her two hole cards. The action moves clockwise around the table starting with the player who is ‘under the gun’ (immediately to the left of the big blind).
Betting options for players
————————————————
In Hold’em, as in other poker games, the available actions are fold, check, bet, call, or raise. Which actions are available exactly depends on the actions taken by the previous players. Each player always has the option to fold, discard his or her cards, and no longer play for the pot. If no one has bet yet, a player can check (don’t bet, but keep his cards) or bet. Once a player has bet, the following players can fold, call or raise. Calling means calling and betting the same amount as the previous player bet. When you raise, you not only call the bet of the previous player, but you also increase that bet.
